Early Childhood
Physical Education
The first thing you need to know about Early Childhood Physical Education is that it is fun.
(Favorite student activities include Scooterville and week-long games of Shipwreck.) The second thing to know is that our physical education program focuses on fine and gross motor skills, confidence-building, and teamwork. And the last thing you need to know is that physical education is pretty much an all-day thing.
While students attend physical education several days a week, children this age never stop moving—and our teachers are always there to steady and support them. Plenty of outdoor play in all kinds of weather. Mindful moments with yoga poses, stretches, and measured breathing. Chairs that wiggle with you. And soft, cozy nap pads when children need to rest and recharge for what comes next.

“Our EC classroom hums with the work of children—excited and productive play. It is an environment that nurtures experimentation, curiosity, and risk taking. We listen to children’s questions and ideas and design connected and purposeful learning opportunities that encourage deeper inquiry. Come see where they have taken us today!”
